Doug Paschal
Vice President and General Manager
A co-founder of CBS Collegiate Sports Properties, Doug has more than 25 years of experience in the industry and has been directly involved with more than 30 major collegiate and professional projects throughout his career. Prior to his relationship with CBS, Doug was a principal partner at Premier Sports Marketing, where he was instrumental in marketing new facilities including the San Jose Arena, the Georgia Dome in Atlanta and Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium at the University of Louisville. Before Doug joined Premier, he was vice president of sales for American Sign & Indicator, selling scoreboards and advertising throughout the Southeast.

Doug’s knowledge of the sports marketing industry is enhanced by his experience on the playing field. He’s currently the 14th career rushing leader at the University of North Carolina where he lettered in both football and track and graduated with a degree in business administration. He was a 5th-round draft pick for the Minnesota Vikings, where he played for two years before suffering a knee injury.

Doug manages operations of the CBS Collegiate Sports Properties team from his headquarters in Charlotte, NC, where he resides with his wife, Jeanne, and three sons.

Bill Cartwright
Director of Business Development
Bill began his career in the sports marketing industry with Daktronics Inc., one of the world's leaders in scoreboards, electronic displays and large screen video systems. He joined Premier Sports Marketing in 1996, and throughout his career in the industry, has worked with more than 20 collegiate and professional sports properties in the areas of property acquisition, management, sponsorship sales, equipment design and consulting.

Bill takes great pride in the relationships he has developed in the industry and in the revenue-generating solutions he's provided to both college and university athletic programs, and professional organizations. Before assuming the role of directing CBS Collegiate Sports Properties’ business development efforts on a national level, Bill was successful in placing more than $100 million in long-term sponsorship revenues for various collegiate athletic programs and professional sports teams across the country.

A native of Illinois, Bill attended South Dakota State University on a basketball scholarship and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in commercial economics. He resides in Sioux Falls, SD, with his wife, Jennifer, daughter, Kate, and sons, Matt and Jack.

David Johnston
Director of Sales and Marketing
Before taking on a national role for CBS Collegiate Sports Properties, David served as general sales manager for the University of Maryland’s sports marketing program, where he brought more than $8 million in corporate sales and initiated unique programs for Terrapin sponsors. Prior to joining the CBS family, David was director of licensing and merchandising and handled corporate sales and marketing for the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Teams in Park City, UT. His clients included VISA, Kodak, United Airlines, Nike and L.L. Bean. He also served six years as a communication officer in the United States Army in Korea, Germany and Virginia.

David holds a master’s degree from Ohio University’s Sports Administration & Facility Management Program and an undergraduate degree from Washington and Lee University. He lives in Crozet, VA, with his wife, Kelly, and two young daughters.

Rich Klein
Director of Collegiate Properties
Rich brings a wealth of success and experience in sports and higher education marketing. In his ten years with CBS Collegiate Sports Properties, he has spearheaded property acquisitions, handled corporate sponsorship sales, sold naming rights, developed strategic marketing plans and created and managed revenue generating concepts at several high profile universities such as Ohio State University, the University of Virginia, the University of Maryland, Florida State University, and Louisiana State University. During his career, Rich has been responsible for more than $80 million in sponsorship sales and his revenue-generating concepts have become a standard in the college sports marketplace.

Before joining CBS Collegiate Sports Properties, Rich served the higher education marketplace with McGraw Hill Publishing, excelling in sales, sales management and marketing. Rich graduated from East Carolina University with a BSBA in marketing. He live in Charlottesville, VA, with his wife, Noelle, daughters Emily and Hannah, and son, Joshua.

Todd Chaffins
Director of Business Operations
Todd has more than 20 years experience in the sports marketing industry, working directly with collegiate and professional sports programs. He is a member of the CBS Collegiate Sports Properties corporate development and business analysis team, specializing in financial, legal and contracting issues. Prior to joining the CBS family in 1993, Todd was national sales and marketing manager for American Electronic Sign. As director of custom projects at American Sign & Indicator (AS&I), Todd headed business operations for the sports division, specializing in marketing and sales of custom scoring systems and advertising to collegiate and professional sports clients.

Todd graduated from Eastern Washington University with a degree in business administration. He lives in Spokane, WA, with his wife, Karen, his daughter and two sons.
